FAQ

Do you have an in-person office?

The Midlife Renewal is a telemedicine practice, so appointments are conducted virtually from the comfort of your home. When laboratory testing is needed, you can typically visit a nearby Labcorp or Quest Diagnostics location, and prescriptions are sent electronically to your preferred pharmacy.

What states do you serve?

The Midlife Renewal currently provides telemedicine care for women located in Louisiana. Additional states will be added as the practice grows.

If you live outside of Louisiana and would like to be notified when care becomes available in your state, please fill out the contact form.

How do I get started?

Schedule an initial consultation through the online booking system. Before your appointment, you’ll complete your health history and intake forms so we can spend your visit focusing on your concerns, goals, and next steps.

Do you accept insurance?

No, The Midlife Renewal is a self-pay practice, which allows me to spend more time with each patient and provide individualized care without the limitations of insurance-based visits.

Laboratory testing, imaging, and prescriptions are separate from the cost of your visit and may be covered by your insurance plan. A superbill can also be provided for you to submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

What can I expect during my first visit?

Your initial visit gives us time to understand the whole picture. We’ll discuss your symptoms and concerns, medical history, medications, lifestyle, and health goals.

We’ll then develop a personalized plan, which may include hormone therapy, weight or metabolic treatment, lifestyle changes, laboratory testing, or other evaluation depending on your needs.

Will I need labwork?

Not necessarily. Laboratory testing is based on your health history, symptoms, medications, and treatment goals. Some women benefit from testing as part of their evaluation, while others may not need extensive lab work.

When testing is appropriate, you can typically have blood work performed through Labcorp or Quest Diagnostics. These laboratories may bill your health insurance directly, depending on your coverage.

How is The Midlife Renewal different?

The Midlife Renewal is designed specifically for women navigating midlife. Rather than treating hormones, weight, or lifestyle as separate issues, I look at how they intersect.

Care may include evidence-based menopause treatment, weight and metabolic care, medication when appropriate, and practical lifestyle changes—with recommendations individualized to your health, symptoms, and goals.

Do you prescribe hormone therapy?

Yes, when appropriate, I prescribe FDA-approved hormone therapy for symptoms of perimenopause and menopause. Treatment is individualized based on your symptoms, medical history, preferences, goals, and current evidence.
Options may include estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone for appropriately selected women.

Do you prescribe GLP-1 medications?

Yes, I prescribe FDA-approved GLP-1 medications when medically appropriate. They are one of several evidence-based options for weight management, and treatment recommendations are based on your medical history, health goals, and individual needs.

Do you prescribe compounded hormones?

I primarily prescribe FDA-approved hormone therapy because these medications have been studied for safety, quality, and consistency. Compounded hormones are reserved for select situations when an FDA-approved option is not appropriate or available.

Are you a primary care physician?

No, The Midlife Renewal is a specialty practice focused on women’s midlife health. I encourage patients to maintain a relationship with a primary care physician for routine preventive care, acute illness, and medical concerns outside the scope of my practice.

When appropriate, I’m happy to work alongside your primary care physician, gynecologist, or other specialists.
