The Midlife Renewal brings together perimenopause and menopause care, weight and metabolic health, and lifestyle medicine in a whole-person approach. Midlife health is rarely explained by a single diagnosis or improved with a single treatment. Hormones influence metabolism, sleep affects weight, and nutrition impacts blood sugar, cardiovascular health, and energy. Rather than focusing on a single symptom, I look at how these pieces fit together to develop an individualized, evidence-based treatment plan.
I don’t believe better health requires perfection. Most women don’t need another restrictive plan that’s impossible to maintain. They need a thoughtful approach that considers their hormones, metabolism, lifestyle, and personal goals. My role is to help you identify meaningful changes that improve your health and are realistic enough to become part of your everyday life.
Perimenopause & Menopause
Perimenopause and menopause can affect far more than periods and hot flashes. Changes in hormones can influence sleep, mood, cognition, body composition, and overall quality of life.
Treatment is individualized based on your symptoms, health history, risks, and goals. When appropriate, options may include FDA-approved hormone therapy as well as nonhormonal treatments and lifestyle strategies.
Common reasons women seek care:
- questions about hormone therapy
- hot flashes and night sweats
- sleep changes
- mood changes
- brain fog
- vaginal and urinary symptoms
- changes in sexual health
- menstrual changes
Weight & Metabolic Health
Metabolic health is about how your body produces and uses energy. During midlife, hormonal changes can make it easier to gain weight, lose muscle, develop insulin resistance, and experience changes in cholesterol or blood pressure.
My goal is to look beyond the number on the scale. Together, we’ll evaluate the factors affecting your metabolism and create a personalized plan that may include nutrition, physical activity, sleep, behavior change, and—when appropriate—weight management medications to support lasting health.
Common concerns include:
- Weight gain during perimenopause and menopause
- Insulin resistance and prediabetes
- Obesity as a chronic disease
- Cardiovascular health
- Nutrition and healthy eating
- Physical activity and strength
- Weight-loss medications when appropriate
Lifestyle Medicine
What is Lifestyle Medicine?
Lifestyle Medicine is an evidence-based medical specialty that uses daily habits to help prevent, treat, and in many cases improve chronic disease. It works alongside conventional medical care—not instead of it.
The six pillars of Lifestyle Medicine are:
- Nutrition
- Physical Activity
- Restorative Sleep
- Stress Management
- Social Connection
- Avoidance of Risky Substances
Lifestyle Medicine recognizes that lasting health isn’t built through short-term diets or perfect routines. It’s built through sustainable daily habits that fit your life and can be maintained over time.
